Things to Do (Activities, Trips & Tours)

Movie Nite –“Hereafter” A drama centered on three people who are troubled by mortality in different ways. George (Matt Damon) is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie, a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus (Frankie/George McLaren), a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might-or must-exist in the hereafter.

Dart-Ball – Two exciting games resulted in a split to keep the season series at a tie.  Tony’s Tigers finished strong with four runs in the last two innings of the first game for a 4-1 win.  They had hits all through the lineup with Bev O’Connell, Lynne Dahlvik, Betty Hellesvig and Dee White driving in the runs.  Floss Klamrowski drove in the Bobcat run.

In the second game, Bob Woytha’s two-run homer in the second inning stood up for a 2-1 win.  It was his 5th homer of the season.  Bob Kroll’s triple scored the Tiger’s run.

There were many hits:  Capt. Bob with 4, Floss Klamrowski had 3 and Bob White, Capt. Tony, Lynne Dahlvik, Don Ruediger, Bob Kroll and Betty Hellesvig each had two.

http://0.dir.c-img.com/1218751/original/34112.jpg“Love Where you Live,” a presentation by Synergy Home Care, will be given on Monday, February 6th at 1:00 pm in the Community Room.   Ruth Busalacchi, owner, is dedicated to helping others live safely and with dignity in their own homes.  She will detail how to stay in your own home, while receiving intense, quality, hands-on, passionate care.  Be an informed consumer by attending this presentation.  Refreshments will be served.

Nordic Walking Poles - Having already learned the amazing benefits of enhanced balance, quality of life and vitality, and extended independent-living lifespan, we are excited to begin our Total Body Balance Walking (TBBW) program.  We will begin with a brief class together on Tuesday, February 7 at 3:00 pm in the Community Room.

From there we will start exerstriding inside the building.  With 26 potential walkers, we are suggesting multiple times for walking, 9:00 AM, 3:00 PM, and 6:00 PM each day thereafter.   You pick the time that works for you.  Just meet by the Chapel Lounge, pick a partner and start walking and talking.  You can design your own routes, since walking on all floors is possible because the poles don’t make any more noise than footsteps.

If you missed the presentation this past Tuesday, come on February 7 to learn about this fun, new way to improve total body fitness.  We will place an order for additional poles as needed.

As forbidden love blossoms between them, the young lovers are forced to face death or part forever. Together, they set a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.   With a pop-rock score that features stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers, Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA is a modern crowd pleaser that embraces exuberant dancing, staging and singing.  Reserved senior pricing is $5.

Inspirational Thought for the Week…

When a child behaves badly, the child’s mother loves him just the same.  She may be grieved, disappointed, and hurt, but nothing the child can do will ever destroy her love.  If that is true of imperfect human love, how much more so God’s love!  It is God’s nature to love us.  Nothing we can do or fail to do can stop the shining of that great love.

Manager’s Minute –

SVC All of us have different things that we are interested in like music, reading, knitting, genealogy, walking, or simply talking or visiting with others.  A small group of residents have been working on a program called SVC –Steeple View Connections, in an effort to provide ways to connect us with each other based on our interests.  Watch for a full description of SVC in next Week’s News.  Many small groups are already in action like the Prayer Shawl Knitters, the Friday

Prayer Group, Luncheon Club, etc.

Did You Know?  Bob Kroll regularly empties our garbage bags from the big gray trash bins in the Trash Rooms by hand into the Big Blue Bins in the West Garage.  Sometimes this gets very messy if your bag isn’t securely tied or if you use regular grocery bags which tend to break open on impact.  Also please check the attached list of Acceptable and Unacceptable Recyclables.  We’ve become a little lax in following these instructions.

Muskego Library Presentation – Tuesday, Feb. 7, 10:00 am, in our Library.  Come and hear what lending options will be available to us from the Muskego Library.

U In Our Prayers U

Please continue to pray for our Steeple View family members and friends with health concerns:
